DESCRIPTION
LuxaBond-Total Etch is a dual-cure bonding agent for enamel and dentin, suitable for use with dual-cure and self-cure composites, such as LuxaCore Z-Dual. It is necessary to etch enamel and dentin surfaces prior to application. Due to the dual-cure nature of the material, LuxaBond-Total Etch is particularly useful when bond-ing posts in areas where light can’t penetrate.
COMPOSITION:
Pre-bond: Ethanolic aryl sulfonate solution
Bond A: Hydrophilic Bis-GMA based resin matrix, catalyst
Bond B: Hydrophilic Bis-GMA based resin matrix, benzoyl peroxide
INDICATIONS:
Used in conjunction with total etch technique for core build ups and addition of resin cements for posts, crowns, bridges, inlays & onlays
CONTRAINDICATIONS:
Do not apply the material in cases of allergies to any of the components, in particu-lar benzoyl peroxide, or in the event of contact allergies

DIRECTION TO USE
Use in the root canal, for cementing root posts, for cementing inlays
Follow the Steps:
1. Prepare the root canal or cavity in accordance with the general rules for adhesive procedures. We recommend the use of a rubber dam.
2. Etch dentin and enamel with 37 % phosphoric acid gel or similar. Start the etching process with the enamel and then expand this to include the dentin. The reaction time on the enamel should be 20 to 60 s. The reaction time on the dentin must not exceed15 s.
Please note: When using LuxaBond-Total Etch it is essential to etch the affected enamel and dentin surfaces.
3. Rinse with water for a minimum of 15 seconds.
4. Remove general water excess. After the rinsing process, an even moist layer must remain on the dentin surface requiring treatment. If necessary, wet the dentin surface using a lightly moistened micro brush.
5. Use a brush to work 1 to 2 drops of pre-bond into the etched tooth structure for 15 s. Remove any excess, e.g. with a paper tip. Blow gently using oil and water-free air. The surface should appear evenly moist.
6. Mix 1 to 2 drops of bond A and bond B in a trough in the mixing palette at a ratio of 1:1 for approx. 5 s and work into the tooth structure for 20 s using a micro brush.
7. Carefully remove bond excess from the preparation, e.g. with a paper tip, and then gently blow with oil and water-free air until the surface appears evenly
moist.
8. Apply the attaching cement in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions.
